As College life has come to an end...here are a few things that I feel would be missed the most.
1.Bunks : Synonymous to college life for most of us this is the biggest difference between college and school/work. This is when we live some of the best moments of our life. On the cost of attendance, we happily enjoy doing nothing. What to do during the bunk..is decided after the bunk is on.
2.Proxy : As the oxford english dictionary says " The athourity to represent someone else. ". Excuse me...did you say athourity ?
The feeling of getting your proxy marked successfully is the same what you get when a distant guests hands you over a fat currency note. You dont earn it...but its yours. And also that is how you met one your closest buddy in the classroom. ..your proxy-mate...
3.Assignments : "Assign...what ?" . These are handwritten sheets of paper believed to get you marks.
How do we complete them ?
Copy them.
Where do we copy from ?
From another copied assignment.
Strange it may sound..but all the assignments we see floating in the class are copied...and the first original source file remains a mystery.
Handwriting is considered of no importance while copyin..err...making an assignment.
You need not to bother about what the questions were, you only need to be concerned about the answers/scribbled scriptures you are referring to.
4.The Canteen : This place is supposed to serve good food. and naturally it serves everything except " good food ". You dont plan to come to the canteen...when moving in group, your feet magically gets attracted to this place. Possibly because this is one of the sunlight-free , fan-installed spot where your presence won't offend any rule.
This is a soft target for people on bunk. You are served with gossips instead of food. Just like the "Guys/Girls" you will always find this more attractive in other colleges.
No matter how much you dislike it...or how oily the samosas are...you have visited this place like your classroom.
5.Your Alias : All have this one name by which everyone knows you...even the friend of friends who dont know your real name. It may be your last name..an abbreviation...or based on one of your traits...or something originated out of an unforgettable event. You get so used to this name that it feels strange to get called by your "official name" inside the campus premises. This is the name which'll keep on reverberating in your ears forever.
6.Party(yy) : College enlightened you about the fact that why Birthday celebration is also known as Birthday "Bash". You try every possible escape before the clock strikes 12' but your friends (in the disguise for that very day) are all prepared for the celebrations before your move...and the rest you can remember is a broken back and bottom of yours.
After this the next target is your wallet....which is choked till its last penny. Its all Christmas for your gang...and you play the Santa.
Though there seems nothing to be happy about but you celebrate your most amazing birthdays and achievements in the most amazing way.
7.The BPL phase : Beginning between the second to first week of the financial month...this is the time when your bank account is drained because of the luxurious hangout you had last weekend. You get a small refill from home on the name of project/books/random academic requirement...which ends up in a day or two and now your next big task is to survive the month with almost no money. You plan to cut short every possible expense and spend a week as a hippie..Plan fails and you borrow some from a slightly distant friend because the close ones are already in the same condition as yours and as soon as the month is over. You are the richest brat on the campus again.
8.Last Night Study : Since your performance last time was not up to the mark, you started making your strategy for this sem exams from the very day the exam datesheet came out. but sadly thats all you did till the day before exam. Now all you need to do is...buy local writer books, highlight the important topics and mug them up whole night. You follow the method of group study, even though it is unproductive but you can make sure that none of your friend is studying more than you.
This Last Night seems to be different from the usual nights...it is shorter...but not short enough to stop you from taking multiple Tea/Sutta/Maggi breaks.
9.The Exams : You wont be facing much of these in the coming life. One of the most hated events. The fear of sitting on the first bench of the row. The happiness of getting the exact question you studied...the sadness of getting the exact question you skipped. Loud Whispers while "being friendly" with your classmates. The difference between your handwriting on the first and last page of the answer sheet and the best feeling being submitting your last exam's answer sheet.
10.Random Hangouts : This is the colour you filled inside the outlines of your college life. Movies in the theatre or the downloaded ones on your laptop, Food at KFC or the parantha corner, Roaming aimlessly in the mall or within the campus...A planned holiday or just a small walk.... No matter whenever or wherever you made them...you enjoyed each and everyone of them and yes you are gonna miss these the most.
this blog would always be short to sum up the things we will miss....but on a Happy Note....what you won't miss in the future are your friends
...your gang...coz they are the earned gifts.... you have for life...
